There are few places in the Dominican Republic that are more beautiful than Santo Domingo de Guzman; the nation’s capital city. The Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Province surrounds the area, although the city itself technically resides as its own province known as the National District. With a population of well over two million people, Santo Domingo is easily the largest city in the Dominican Republic, and is, in fact, the second-largest city in the entire Caribbean Region.
As the nation’s third-largest city, La Romana, La Romana Dominican Republic has a population of just over 250,000 people. Serving as the capital city for the province sharing its name, La Romana is growing as a tourist hub and serving as many of the islands most popular resorts reside nearby. Already a popular area due to beautiful beaches and the unique availability of jobs, the area has grown drastically as it has become a top Dominican tourist region.
Sosua is a small town Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Sosua Beach is a popular tourist attraction because of its central location. The beach is U-shaped with fine white sand. Its waters are home to diverse species of fish and coral. A new, naturally developed beach lies to the north.

Dominican Punta Cana lies at the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic along 23 miles of beach and 18 miles of coral reefs. To the east of Dominican Punta Cana lies the Atlantic Ocean while the village of Bavaro is at the north.
