Chinese visitors are the key to Dominican tourist goal
On Tuesday, President Danilo Medina payoff a major step toward his earlier stated target of ten million tourists coming to Dominican Republic in a single year. Recently he welcomed two Chinese families by asking them to come at the National Palace. The 2 Chinese families came in the country for a holiday holiday.
Francisco Javier Garcia, the tourism minister of the country told that the visit is part of tourism department’s campaign to change the Dominican Republic in one of the most wanted destinations for the people of China.
He told that Tourism promotes Dominican Republic in China, as they want to capitalize from the country’s 80 million people who travel across the world throughout the year. Among the visitors were Yong Cai, the Chint Group's chief executive officer along with Garcia said to be the largest manufacturer of electrical goods. An official, as a part of the campaign, told that a tourism channel with a viewership of around 580 million would came in Dominican Republic and generate profit.
Recently there were reports of crime affecting tourists and the foreign office has already issued an advice regarding that . The website have reported that there have been several incidents in Santo Domingo where foreign tourists have been mugged in broad daylight when they were walking down residential districts.
In January 2013 20 visitors from the United states were mugged by attackers on the street in two related incidents. The advice stated that the tourists must take care if passing through an isolated tourist area on foot especially at night.
